Do we allow Government to Fail Again and Again?
When we make mistakes in life or business we are held accountable.
Then WHY does it seem that governments (and politicians) all over the world get away with mistake after mistake with no consequences?
Could it be because they have lost the ability to listen to their constituents?
It is blatantly obvious that most politicians have no concern for their constituents and are only driven by one simple force – GREED. Politics is just another business opportunity that pays better than most jobs, not only in South Africa, but worldwide.
South African politicians are particularly handsomely paid. According to SARS 2016 published statistics, out of more than 19 million registered taxpayers in South Africa, only 19 834 are paid more than R1 Million – including Members of Parliament, Government Ministers, Members of the Provincial Legislature, Executive Mayors of larger municipalities, Municipal Managers and members of Executive Committees in Metro councils etc.
A R1 Million Plus annual basic salary puts most SA politicians in the top 0.1% of registered taxpayers. 99.9% of South Africans earn less than most politicians. High incomes, lack of accountability, incredibly thick skins and a disdain for the law and constituents explains why so many self-serving idiots are in political positions of authority.
