On Sunday, we discovered a sewage pipe at the back of our property, that leads out to the Baakens Valley, was leaking sewage into the Valley. We had a plumber come and have a look today, and he said that he suspects vandalism is at fault, as there was a pole next to the pipe, and it looks like it was deliberately smashed or broken, possibly to gain access to the possibility of water.
The sewage is now overflowing.
I will contact the Municipality-Sewage division tomorrow and lodge a claim/ request for someone to come and repair it.
The plumber was also concerned about what looks like some homeless people who have lit fires and found shelter in the Baakens Valley side, right behind our house. I’m really concerned about the safety risk that this causes, and I’m too nervous to climb into that bush and investigate further. I’d really appreciate some guidance as to what we could possibly do about clearing the bush directly behind our property, overlooking the Valley side.
